Mohmand Dam to change the destiny of farmers in the region, Abid Atozai

MARDAN: Chairman Provincial Youth Assembly (PYA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abid Atozai on Tuesday said that Mohmand Dam being built on the River Swat in Mohmand district will bring economic development to the tribal districts especially Mohmand and Bajaur.

Abid Khan Atozai, Chairman PYA has said that construction of the Mohmand Dam will bring many opportunities for the entire province, apart from promising clean drinking, irrigation water  and cheap electricity.

He emphasized that the Dam would bring economic development to the tribal districts especially Mohmand and Bajaur.

This under-construction multi-purpose Hydropower Project is the first mega-dam in 5 decades.  The dam costing Rs 309.6 billion will be constructed 218 meters high  with a storage capacity of 1.293 million acre feet water and will generate 800-megawatt electricity.
