Four transgender persons arrested for gambling
Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Police on Saturday have arrested four transgenders along with 9 males for allegedly gambling from a house in the area of Waris Khan Police Station.
According to Police spokesperson, the police arrested transgender person Laila Ali along with 13 others from a house in Waris Khan area and recovered 1 lac and 4 thousand rupees, four mobile phones and other gambling gears from them.
Other accused includes transgender Sana, Maisha, Gul Naz and Saleem, Shehbaz, Pervaiz, Faisal Tanveer, Sajid, Riasat, Aneel Sajid, Iqbal and Tufail.
The police registered First Information Reports against them under the relevant clauses of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and were presented before the duty magistrate. The magistrate accepted their bail applications and ordered to release them due to the corona virus epidemic situation.
The Superintendent of Police Mazhar Iqbal said, police will continue its operations against the law violators.
It is pertinent to mentioned that a FIR of gambling was also registered against the transgender Laila Ali in August 2018 in new town Police station of Rawalpindi.
