Community Celebrates Completion of School Boundary Wall in Village 12/11L Sahiwal

Sahiwal: The Lodhran Pilot Project and Awaaz Do Program came together to celebrate a significant milestone – the completion of the boundary wall for Government Middle School in Village 12/11L. The ceremony, held to mark this achievement, was graced by the presence of Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad Alvi, Deputy District Education Officer, Sahiwal, as the chief guest.

The event witnessed the participation of esteemed members from Awaaz Do Village Forum, dedicated teachers including Ikram, members of Ekta Society, and other dignitaries from the area. During the ceremony, Mr. Abdul Lajba, representing The Village Forum and Ekta Society, provided insights into the concerted efforts made towards securing the completion of the school’s boundary walls.

Further recommendations for the enhancement of the school were shared by Mr. Ansar Iqbal, School Headmaster, who emphasized the importance of additional facilities such as the construction of a clean water plant and a toilet block within the school premises.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Alvi highlighted the historical significance of the school, which has stood for a century without a boundary wall. However, through the collaborative efforts of the community and departmental cooperation, a remarkable achievement of completing 1564 feet of four walls, amounting to approximately Rs 7 million, was attained.

Assuring continued support, Mr. Alvi reiterated the department’s commitment to the ongoing betterment of the school and its facilities.

Expressing gratitude, Ms. Alvira Waqas, District Coordinator for Lodhran Pilot Project and Awaaz-II, thanked all participants and affirmed a collective dedication to further improve government facilities in the area. She pledged continued collaboration to address any challenges faced by the community, ensuring sustained progress and development.
