Why does Sherry Rehman hold the PTI govt responsible for accelerating the ratio of covid-19?
Islamabad: Pakistan People Party’s Senator Sherry Rehman has said that “It is a matter of shame for the PTI government that only 1.3 million people could be vaccinated against covid-19 in the country so far.
Sherry Rehman pointed out that considering its population, the country had the lowest ratio of vaccination in Asia as it could only vaccinate 0.5 per cent citizens so far. PPP Rehman added that “It seems that Pakistan will take a decade to vaccinate 75 per cent of its population.
In a statement on Wednesday, the PPP vice president said the positive ratio of covid-19 stood 11.6 per cent during the last 24 hours while 148 people lost their lives and 5,499 people tested positive.
She said the slow paced vaccination process is the major cause behind the accelerating death rate in the country.
The PPP leader also questioned as to why the vaccine was not purchased timely and why a dashboard to monitor the vaccination process is not being set up so far.
She said that the government should take its responsibility and give account in this regard.
