RTI: KPIC Recommends Inquiry Against WSSP for Noncompliance

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission (KPIC) has taken action on complaint number 9043, where a citizen requested the “tender and BOQ copy of a sewerage and water supply line in Zone-C Peshawar” from the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP). The KPIC has chosen to recommend the Secretary Local Government to launch an investigation against the WSSP. This is a result of the KPIC’s directive being consistently disregarded.

In another complaint, numbered 10207, a citizen requested a copy of the DoK Book from the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) in Peshawar. The commission has decided to share the received information from KTH Peshawar with the complainant.

Furthermore, in complaint #8916, a citizen sought a ‘district-wise list of coal mines in KP’ from the Environmental Agency (EPA). The commission has directed the EPA to submit a proper reply in the case, ensuring compliance with the KP RTI Act 2013 and the spirit of the implementation of the act.

Chief Information Commissioner Farah Hamid Khan emphasized that the commission firmly believes in providing information to citizens to ensure transparency and good governance in the province. Any lapses in this matter will not be tolerated.
