India, which is set to host the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup in 2023, has started shortlisting venues for the tournament.
The stadiums in Nagpur, Bangalore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Rajkot, Indore, and Dharamsala have been shortlisted for the World Cup matches.
According to Indian media reports, the ‘Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium’ in Ahmedabad, may have been selected for the India-Pakistan match.
The stadium has a seating capacity of over 1 lakh spectators. It has also been reported that seven venues have been selected for India’s matches, out of which two matches have been kept in Ahmedabad.
The venues for other matches of the World Cup are expected to be announced soon.
