High Court Halts Legal Proceedings Against Sheikh Rashid in Karachi, Balochistan
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has temporarily prevented the Karachi and Balochistan police from taking any action against Awami Muslim League (AML) leader and former interior minister, Sheikh Rashid.
The case was heard by Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, who expressed concerns over the growing number of cases against politicians.
Sheikh Rashid’s counsel reported that his client was interrogated and subjected to political questioning and violence for six hours at an unknown location.
The court questioned the legality of registering FIRs in different cities for the same incident and ordered the police to halt proceedings.
The hearing has been adjourned until February 9 with notices issued to the bar councils, attorney general, and advocate general.
