PESHAWAR: Another killing of a transgender person has been reported in Peshawar.
According to police, a transgender individual identified as Basit, also known as Bijli, son of Momin and a resident of Safaid Dheri, was shot dead in the limits of Faqirabad Police Station in the Hassan Garhi area.
Police officials said that as soon as information about the incident was received, local police officers reached the scene and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
The police recovered three spent shells of a 30-bore weapon from the crime scene. On the basis of these and other important pieces of evidence, investigations have been launched from various angles to trace the suspect or suspects involved in the killing.
The heirs of the deceased have been informed. Police said that a case will be registered after receiving the report and formal application from the family.
