38 Indian Embassy Officials Reach Wagah Border To Return Home
Islamabad: At least 38 staff members of Indian High Commission, including six diplomats and their families, on Tuesday left for India via Attari-Wagah Border Lahore.
Earlier, Pakistan asked India to cut the strength of its High Commission in Islamabad by 50 percent as a countermeasure to Indian move of cutting the strength of Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi.
At least six diplomats of Indian High Commission and their families are among the group of Indian embassy officials who return to India today.
Meanwhile, 100 staff members of Pakistani High Commission in India, including families of diplomats, also return to Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah Border.
Amid the ongoing diplomatic tussle with Pakistan, the Indian government asked the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi to cut staff by 50 per cent.
In a reactive initiative, the government asked India to cut staff by 50 percent within seven days.
