Six nurses injured in accident on way at Typhoid campaign

Lahore: At least six nursing students of Nursing College and Allied Health Sciences School of Lahore General Hospital were injured in a road accident in Lahore on Saturday.

The victim nurses were travelling to Nishtar Town Area of Lahore at the Typhoid vaccination campaign, currently underway across Punjab.

The victims were taken to Lahore General Hospital for the medical treatment where they were stated to be in stable condition.

Following the incident, the PGMI/LGH Principal Dr Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar reached at the Emergency section and constituted a medical team for their proper care and treatment

Talking to the media, the LGH principal said that facing difficulties in performing their duties is an important part of the medical field and these nursing students were confronted with the same situation during their training.

He said this scenario will help them in overcoming other challenges in medical professional life. The safety of these female students and provision of all possible medical facilities to them is paramount for which clear instructions have been surfaced, Principal Zafar maintained.

Zafar further said that he would personally monitor the matter and all possible medical facilities would be extended to these nursing students.
