Rawalpindi to Host 9 PSL Matches, 3 Day and 6 Night

Temporary Closure of Food Street Double Road Implemented to Enhance Safety Measures for PSL Matches

Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak led a review meeting to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The matches are scheduled from March 2 to March 10, 2024.

Rawalpindi is set to host nine PSL matches, including three day matches and six night matches. Engineer Amir Khattak emphasized the importance of ensuring top-notch arrangements to uphold hospitality and peace for the guest players.

For security reasons, Food Street Double Road will remain closed from February 28 until March 11, 2024. Commissioner Rawalpindi urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies for national interest.

Engineer Amir Khattak highlighted completed preparations, including roadworks and streetlight repairs. The District Administration Rawalpindi assured foolproof security with 5,500 security personnel deployed during the matches.

Security measures include walkthrough gates, CCTV cameras, and NADRA verification counters at entry gates. A control room at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Gymnasium will monitor arrangements.

Parking will be available at Rawal Park and Satellite Town College, with shuttle services for spectators. Bomb disposal squads and continuous power supply by IESCO are ensured. First aid and firefighting services will also be readily available.

Additionally, 100 RDWMC personnel will maintain cleanliness at the cricket stadium throughout the matches.
