No drone crashed near Faisal Mosque: DC

ISLAMABAD – The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad has categorically denied reports of a drone crash near Faisal Mosque, terming the claims as baseless and urging the public to rely only on verified information.

In a series of tweets from the official DC Islamabad social media account, the administration clarified that “No drone has crashed in Islamabad” and that immediate response teams, including the district administration and police, had reached the site following reports, only to find the news untrue.

The DC emphasized the importance of following official sources for accurate updates, stating, “Citizens are requested not to pay attention to rumours regarding such matters.”

Furthermore, the tweets highlighted that a few individuals were attempting to create panic in the capital by sounding false sirens. The public has been urged to avoid spreading or acting on unverified information, especially in sensitive situations.

“In case of an emergency, the district administration will issue a verified announcement on social and electronic media. Please don’t rely on unverified information,” one of the tweets read.

The DC also warned of strict action against those responsible for spreading panic or disrupting public peace, adding that no information should be considered authentic unless confirmed by the district administration.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining order and urged residents to stay calm and informed through official communication channels.
