LHC orders police to refrain from arresting Usman Buzdar

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the police to avoid arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar.

The decision was made during a hearing held on Friday at the LHC where Buzdar’s lawyer expressed concerns over his client’s alleged harassment by the authorities.

During the hearing, Buzdar’s lawyer informed the court that the police surrounded Buzdar’s residence where his family members, including his wife and children, were present. The lawyer further stated that such actions were causing mental anguish to Buzdar and his family.

The LHC ordered the police to avoid arresting Buzdar and directed the authorities to involve him in the ongoing investigation. The court adjourned the hearing until Monday, and the case has been referred to the larger bench of the Chief Justice.

Earlier this year, Usman Buzdar secured protective bail in corruption and other cases. In a recent hearing at the Lahore High Court Bahawalpur bench, Judge Justice Tariq Nadeem heard the case, and Buzdar appeared in person for protective bail.
