Khalid Khurshid nominated by PTI for Chief Minister’s post
Islamabad: – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has approved the name of Khalid Khurshid, A newly elected member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, for the slot of Chief Minister (CM) Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
“Prime Minister Imran Khan approved name of Advocate Khalid Khurshid for next Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan”, Saifullah Niazi Tweeted.

Earlier, Saifullah Niazi, Chief Organizer PTI met PM Imran Khan and discussed important aspects of the formation of government in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Khurshid elected as a member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly from GBA-13 Astore-1 in the General election held on 15 November 2020.
According to family sources, Khurshid born on 17 November in “Ratu” Village of District Astore, Gilgit-Baltistan and completed his matriculation from Public School & College, Gilgit.
They Said Khurshid completed his graduation from Faisal Abad and done his Law Degree from Kevin Merry University, London.
Khurshid contested his first election in 2009 from GBA13-Astore-1 but was defeated. Later, in 2015 he again contested election from the same constituency but once again defeated, “The Reporters” learnt.
He joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf on July 28, 2018 and elected as Party President for Diamer/Astore Division.
The Nominated CM GB is elected as a member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on 15 November 2020 from Astore -1 for the first time.
According to the Spokesperson of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, the house will elect its leader of the House on November 30, 2020.
