JI to stage sit-in against postponement of Karachi LG polls

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Wednesday announced to stage sit-in outside Sindh Chief Minister House on January 5 to register their protest against delay in Local Government elections.

JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman criticized the Sindh government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for avoiding the elections and accused them of making excuses to delay the polls.

He emphasized that the JI wants the local government elections to be held on January 15 and that any delays based on delimitations or other excuses are not acceptable.
