Islamabad bans gatherings outside courts after PTI protest
The administration of the federal capital has prohibited gatherings outside courts and will take strict action against any protests that occur.
However, people directly involved in a hearing, such as lawyers and journalists, will be allowed access. Workers will not be allowed to attend court during the appearance of political leaders.
These measures were taken in response to a protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s on Tuesday supporters who damaged court premises and disrupted proceedings.
The ban is aimed at preventing similar incidents from occurring and ensuring that court proceedings are conducted without disturbance.
The implementation of Section 144 and the ban on gatherings outside courts will be in effect until further notice.
