Heavy rain and hailstorms expected in Pakistan

Islamabad: The new system of westerly winds is expected to bring heavy rains and hailstorms to upper and central parts of Pakistan on March 28, according to the Meteorological Department.

Additionally, rain and thunderstorms are expected to occur in most parts of Balochistan, southern Punjab, and Sindh on March 29 and 30.

On the same days, heavy to moderate rain and hailstorms are also expected to affect several parts of Sindh, including Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Hyderabad.

The MET office has also predicted rain and hailstorms in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, and Kohat.

Meanwhile, Islamabad and the Potohar region are also likely to be affected by heavy rain and hailstorms. The Meteorological Department warns that strong winds and hailstorms may cause damage to crops, while heavy rains could lead to flooding in rivers.

There is also a possibility of landslides occurring in KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Galiyat.
