Girls’ Scooty Rally in university of Sahiwal Marks Independence Day

The University of Sahiwal continues its vibrant celebrations for Pakistan’s Independence Day, marked by a unique and inspiring event a Girls’ Scooty Rally that showcased both empowerment and acceptance in the heart of Sahiwal.
A large number of female students enthusiastically participated in the rally, which began from the Academic Block and concluded at the Administration Block. The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Javed Akhtar as chief guests. Registrar Syed Asghar Ali Shah, ADC General Niaz Ahmed Mughal, Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid, Director Public Relations Muhammad Aqeel Ashfaq, and women faculty members were also present.
Participants decorated their scooters with national flags, creating a colorful and patriotic display. Addressing the event, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood said that Sahiwal District is celebrating Independence Day and the historic Battle of Badr with great enthusiasm. He urged citizens to actively take part in the festivities, reminding them that living nations celebrate their independence with passion and pride, and that such events honor Pakistan’s victories and the sacrifices made for its freedom.
At the conclusion of the rally, certificates were distributed among participants. Rally focal person Dr. Muhammad Ayub expressed special gratitude to the guests, participants, and media representatives.
Earlier, as part of the Independence Day celebrations, the University of Sahiwal hosted a grand Azadi Seminar presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Javed Akhtar. The seminar saw a large attendance of students, faculty, and administrative staff. Its aim was to highlight the significance of freedom and instill national awareness in the younger generation.
In his address, Professor Dr. Javed Akhtar emphasized the priceless value of independence and paid tribute to the martyrs and national heroes for their immense sacrifices. He lauded the role of Pakistan’s armed forces and security agencies in safeguarding the nation’s defense and sovereignty, stating that the country’s freedom is the result of their sacrifices, determination, and courage.
The Vice Chancellor urged students to embrace qualities such as the pursuit of knowledge, unity, honesty, tolerance, and patriotism to contribute effectively to the country’s progress. The event concluded with a special prayer for Pakistan’s development, prosperity, and stability.
