Director of Education (Colleges) Leads 77th Independence Day Celebrations
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Division on August 14, 2024 witnessed a historic display of national pride as all 110 public colleges came together to celebrate Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day. The event was marked by a wave of patriotism and enthusiasm, with simultaneous celebrations across all institutions. This grand occasion was organized under the supervision of the Director of Education (Colleges) Rawalpindi Division, following the directives of the Government of Punjab and the visionary leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz.
The celebrations brought together teachers, students, and community members, all united in their love for Pakistan. The atmosphere was charged with energy as participants from various backgrounds joined hands to commemorate this significant day.
The central event was held at Govt Viqar Un Nisa Graduate College, Rawalpindi, where the Directorate of Education (Colleges) hosted the Divisional Headquarters function. The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division as the Guest of Honor, and Special Guest Ms. Asma Abbasi, MPA.
The event featured a series of captivating activities, including a ceremonial flag-hoisting, the singing of the national anthem, and powerful speeches by the esteemed guests, emphasizing the importance of independence and national unity. Cultural performances, including patriotic songs, skits, and a special rendition of a patriotic song written and performed by Prof. Maria Javed, deeply resonated with the audience and received widespread acclaim.
In line with the Chief Minister’s visionary directive, a massive plantation drive was also launched on this auspicious day, symbolizing the nation’s commitment to a greener future. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, and other dignitaries actively participated in the plantation drive by planting trees on the college grounds, setting a commendable example for the community.
As the celebrations concluded, a strong sense of pride and unity prevailed among all participants. The 77th Independence Day celebrations in the Rawalpindi Division will be remembered as a milestone event, inspiring hope and national spirit for generations to come.
