PMD provides updates on Ramadan, weather and moon sighting
As Muslims around the world prepare to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued updates regarding the weather and crescent moon sighting.
The first day of Ramadan in Pakistan is anticipated to fall on March 23, with the crescent moon expected to be sighted on March 22 (Wednesday).
According to the Met Office, the moon is expected to be born at 10:23 pm on March 21, and it will be approximately 20 hours old by the time of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting on March 22.
The chances of sighting the moon between 6:41 pm and 7:32 pm on Wednesday are high as the sky is predicted to remain clear.
Furthermore, the PMD has predicted a reduction in heat intensity during the first 10 days of Ramadan in Karachi.
