YouTuber Imran Riaz Blocked from Hajj
YouTuber Imran Riaz was reportedly prevented from traveling for Hajj by immigration authorities at Islamabad International Airport because his name was on the Exit Control List (ECL).
In a video posted on social media, Riaz is seen conversing with an immigration official, holding a document, and stating, “According to this, my name should be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) and Passport Control List (PCL). If the Judge has ordered this, then the list should have been updated.”
The officer concurred, adding, “Either the list should be updated, or you need a one-time special permission to fly abroad.”
On May 29, the YouTuber announced on social media that his name had been removed from the no-fly list by the Islamabad High Court, and he intended to perform Hajj.
However, on June 3, Riaz posted on X that despite the court’s orders, his name remained on both the ECL and PCL.
