Pakistani Tech Entrepreneur Rehan Jalil’s AI Company Acquired for $1.7 Billion by U.S. Firm

In a landmark development for Pakistan’s tech industry, U.S. software giant Veeam Software has announced the acquisition of Pakistani-origin entrepreneur Rehan Jalil’s company, Securiti AI, for a massive $1.7 billion  roughly equivalent to Rs 4.77 trillion.

The deal, one of the largest in the global AI security sector, positions Securiti AI as a cornerstone of Veeam’s new artificial intelligence and data governance strategy. According to reports, once the acquisition is finalized later this year, Rehan Jalil will assume the role of President of Security and AI at Veeam Software.

Founded in 2018, Securiti AI specializes in data privacy, security automation, and AI governance  helping global enterprises secure sensitive information in the era of artificial intelligence. The company had previously raised over $150 million in venture funding and quickly became a leader in the “Data + AI Security” domain.

Rehan Jalil, the founder and CEO of Securiti AI, hails from Karachi. He completed his Electrical Engineering degree from NED University of Engineering and Technology, earned a Master’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University (USA), and later attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.Industry analysts are calling this one of the biggest tech exits ever achieved by a Pakistani entrepreneur, marking a major milestone for Pakistan’s growing global tech footprint.

“This acquisition highlights the potential of Pakistani talent in the international technology arena,” said a Silicon Valley analyst familiar with the deal. “It’s a strong message that innovation from emerging markets like Pakistan can lead at the global level.”The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.

With this acquisition, Rehan Jalil joins the ranks of Pakistani innovators who have successfully bridged the gap between Pakistan’s academic talent and the world’s most advanced tech ecosystems  proving once again that the future of AI innovation has no borders.
