Pak Info Commission to digitize complaint management system

ISLAMABAD: The Sustainable Social Development Organization with the support of UNESCO Pakistan has started a project to digitize the complaint lodging and processing system of the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC).

In this regard, an online meeting between officials of SSDO and PIC was held on Wednesday to discuss plan and strategy for the development of the online management information system (MIS).

The online MIS will facilitate the citizens’ in lodging online complaints through PIC website in the case of refusal of information requested by them under Federal Right to Information law.

The proposed project will be implemented in closed coordination with the Pakistan Information Commission over the period of five months which includes the development of management information system and as well as entry of previous data on the MIS.

Zahid Abdullah – Federal Information Commissioner – informed “The Reporters”, after the development of online MIS the citizen will be able to lodge complaints online. He said the system will also carry tracking system of the complaints.

He maintained, the citizen through their appeal numbers will be able to check the recent status of their appeals.

Apart of that, the online system will also help PIC to not only process the appeal effectively but also maintain the record digitally, he added.

SSDO – a non-government organization- will conduct this project and will develop the MIS as per requirement of the commission.
