Another Young Woman Goes Missing from Influential Personality’s Mansion in Sindh

Karachi: Days after the tragic case of a 10-year-old girl’s murder following alleged rape and torture by a Pir in Sindh’s Ranipur, a young woman from Qambar-Shahdadkot district has reportedly gone missing from another influential personality’s mansion.

Deedar Gurhmani, a resident of Qambar town, sent his daughter Sana, 20, to the mansion of Pir Syed Sohail Ahmed Shah in Khairpur’s Ranipur area, seeking trust and protection. However, about a month ago, Shah informed Gurhmani that his daughter had gone missing from the mansion.

Gurhmani confronted Pir Sohail in Ranipur but was met with disrespect and told to leave. He’s appealing to higher authorities for help in recovering his daughter.

Sindh caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retired) Maqbool Baqar took notice of the incident, urging an investigation for the safe recovery of the missing girl.

Last week, the death of 10-year-old Fatima at Pir Asad Shah Jeelani’s mansion after alleged torture sent shockwaves across the country.

Apprehensions linger that the girl was sexually abused before her tragic demise, with a post-exhumation autopsy report indicating the same.

Jeelani, a member of an influential family, was arrested for the crime and is in police custody while a case proceeds in a local court.
