Faisal Mosque Offers Itikaf Program with Increased Charges
Faisal Mosque in Islamabad is inviting worshippers to participate in itikaf during Ramadan. Itikaf involves dedicating oneself to worshiping Allah during the last 10 days of Ramadan.
This year, Faisal Mosque will accommodate 300 people for itikaf. Interested individuals can apply on a ‘first come first serve’ basis until the 10th day of Ramadan.
To apply, worshippers must fill out a form available at the mosque’s Islamic Centre. There’s a non-refundable fee of Rs5,000, payable through a bank draft, along with submission of proof.
The fee has increased from Rs3,000 last year, and it doesn’t cover food for sehri and iftari, which participants must arrange themselves.
Despite this, the mosque provides religious books, a Quran copy, and organizes lectures for participants. Applicants must submit a copy of their national identity card and two passport-sized photos. The maximum age limit for itikaf is 60 years.
Accepted applicants must arrive at the mosque before iftar on the 20th day of Ramadan.
