ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has requested five names from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders for discussions.
Sanjrani has reportedly reached out to senior PTI members Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, and Shahzad Waseem. Sources said that the PTI is expected to nominate the Senate Chairman shortly.
According to insiders, Sanjrani briefed Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the government’s message during their conversation.
The sources added that Prime Minister Imran Khan has formed a three-member committee comprising Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, and Senator Ali Zafar to conduct talks with the opposition.
It’s worth recalling that Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Saad Rafique had already approached Sanjrani to recommend the formation of a committee comprising five members from both the opposition and the government currently serving in the Senate to hold discussions.
