ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have summoned former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan to appear for an investigation into nine cases filed against him. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is investigating all cases against Imran Khan, and the summons have been sent to his residence in Zaman Park.
According to details, the police have summoned Imran Khan on April 11 to appear before the investigation team to investigate two cases. He has also been directed to appear before police at Police Lines Headquarters on April 12 for a probe into seven other cases.
The notices sent to Imran Khan’s residence stated that he should appear before the investigation teams to record his statement. The notice warned that if he fails to appear, the law will take its due course.
Moreover, on Sunday, Imran Khan was also summoned by the district and sessions court of Islamabad in the Toshakhana case. The summons were issued in response to a plea seeking an immediate hearing of the case. Imran Khan has been asked to appear before the court on April 11 at 8:30 in the morning.
These multiple cases have put Imran Khan in a difficult position, and his appearance before the court and the police will be closely watched by his supporters and detractors alike.
