PML-Q has power to pick Pervaiz Elahi as Punjab chief minister, claims PML-Q senator
Islamabad: PML-Q Secretary General Senator Kamil Ali Agha has said PML-Q has power to choose Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as chief minister Punjab but kept itself away from this race in the best interest of the State.
He said this while exclusively talking to Online in Islamabad on Tuesday.
At the time of going into coalition with the PTI, PML- Q had demanded the post of Punjab chief minister or deputy prime minister as a condition for forming a coalition provincial government with PTI, but it could not succeed to convince Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It is to mention here that despite, both PTI and PML-Q are enjoying coalition governments in the centre and Punjab their leaders never hesitated criticizing each other.
Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that he has a strong desire to see Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as chief minister of Punjab.
The PML-Q senior leader said our five votes have great importance for any political change in the country. He, however, expressed his concerns that growing inflation and unemployment is a great damage to his party’s political career, adding that they would bear the cost of their support to the incumbent government in the future.
He made it clear that his party has a strong association with the country, not with PTI or Imran Khan.
Talking about GB elections, the Senator said that he recently visited Gilgit-Baltistan, adding that PML-Q has issued tickets to 17 candidates and also supporting independent candidates have strong hold in the region. He was optimistic for good results.
Responding to a question, Kamil Ali Agha said PML-Q has always worked in the best national interest and his party support to the PTI government is persuasion of the same policy.
The PML-Q doesn’t support the incumbent government or Imran Khan but this state and its people. He was curious that Prime Minister Imran Khan never even bothered to inquire about the health of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
Responding to another question, Kamil Ali Agha said our coalition agreement is not with the PTI or Imran Khan but with the State.
He was of the view that PTI leaders often talked against Chaudhry Pervez Elahi but he is still loyal to the provincial government and serving it with honesty.
Kamil Ali Agha said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif should not target institutions and by doing so he not only damaged his credibility but country’s prestige. He said that Nawaz Sharif himself was a creation of the institutions and he should not forget it. ONLINE
