Woman Assaulted by Security Guard at Benazir Bhutto Hospital
Rawalpindi: A shocking incident unfolded at Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto Hospital, where a security guard allegedly assaulted a woman in the washroom. The police have arrested the suspect, Shahzeb, following the victim’s complaint.
The woman had come to the hospital to care for her 9-year-old daughter, who is admitted to the children’s ward. Late at night, the victim went to use the washroom, where the security guard forcibly entered and assaulted her. Traumatized by the incident, the woman reportedly drank hand sanitizer in distress.
According to the police, a case has been registered at Waris Khan Police Station based on the woman’s complaint. In her statement, the victim alleged that the security guard followed her into the washroom and committed the crime.
This is not the first such case at this government hospital. In August 2023, another incident occurred in the hospital’s X-ray room, where a mother of two was allegedly assaulted. Hospital staff members were implicated in that case, luring the victim under the pretense of a medical test. Both employees then assaulted her inside the X-ray room and later blackmailed her with explicit videos, committing further assaults in a computer room.
The incidents have sparked outrage among citizens, with calls for stricter security measures and oversight at the hospital. Social activists and public representatives have urged authorities to take swift action to ensure such heinous crimes are prevented and that the culprits are punished severely.
