Police Raid LimeLight Outlet, Arrest Staff for Filming Women
Police raided the LimeLight outlet on Sir Syed Road, arresting the manager, Moon Raza, and three accomplices on charges of secretly filming women in the trial room and using the footage to blackmail them.
The operation followed complaints from victims who alerted the police about the misconduct. During the raid, officers from the City Police Station recovered hundreds of explicit videos from the accused’s mobile phones, allegedly recorded without the knowledge of the women trying on clothes at the store.
An FIR has been registered under Section 21-1(d) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, along with Sections 509 and 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code. These sections address crimes related to electronic harassment, insulting the modesty of women, and assault or use of criminal force against women.
The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, with many calling for stricter measures to ensure the safety and privacy of women in public spaces. Police have assured the public of a thorough investigation and stringent action against those involved.
