PM Approves Huzaifa Rahman’s Resignation

Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, has given his approval for the resignation of Mr. Huzaifa Rahman from the position of Information Commissioner at the Pakistan Information Commission. The resignation is set to take effect from January 10, 2024.

The Establishment Division issued a notification on January 26, 2024, confirming the Prime Minister’s acceptance of Mr. Huzaifa Rahman’s resignation. Rahman, who represented the Civil Society category, was appointed as an Information Commissioner on June 8, 2023, in accordance with Section 18 (3) (c) of the Right of Access to Information Act, 2017.

With almost seven months of service, Huzaifa Rahman leaves the position vacant in the Civil Society category within the Pakistan Information Commission. The Commission, comprising three members appointed by the Prime Minister, plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency and access to information.

The Commission’s current composition includes the other two members, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and Ijaz Hassan Awan, each representing different categories.
