PCSIR Chairman Tenders Unconditional Apology for Delay in Implementing PIC Orders

Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), Dr. Syed Hussain Imam Abidi, appeared in person before the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) along with his counsel and tendered an unconditional apology for the delay in implementing the Commission’s order.

According to details, despite the issuance of a show cause notice to the Chairman, PCSIR, no one appeared before the Commission. Consequently, the Pakistan Information Commission passed an order directing the Chairman to appear in person and to ensure submission of the public record required by a citizen in an appeal pending before the Commission.

In compliance with the order of the PIC, Dr. Syed Hussain Imam Abidi, Chairman, PCSIR, and his counsel, Ambreen Moeen Advocate, appeared before the Commission.

Counsel for the Chairman submitted that Dr. Abidi tendered an unconditional apology for the delay in implementing the Commission’s order and for the non-appearance of any PCSIR officers before the PIC.
She further informed the Commission that the non-appearance was neither intentional nor deliberate, but occurred due to unavoidable official engagements. It was also submitted that at no stage was there any intention to disregard, delay, or disobey the lawful orders of the Commission.

Taking note of the personal appearance of the Chairman and showing grace, the Commission appreciated his presence and subsequently withdrew the show cause notice.
