Pakistan army chief vows to bring vandals to justice
Peshawar: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has stated that the country’s armed forces will not tolerate any further violation of the security and sanctity of its installations or acts of vandalism.
He resolved to bring to justice all those responsible for the acts of vandalism on the Black Day of 9th May. Gen Munir made these comments during a visit to the Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he was given a briefing on the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
Appreciating the performance of the Law Enforcement Agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism, the Army Chief also spoke about the evolving threats to national security, highlighting the need for continued efforts towards peace and stability.
He warned against any attempts to disrupt the process and pledged to take stern action against the planners, abetters, instigators, and executors of such acts.
Gen Munir also spoke about the challenges posed by information warfare and efforts to create misperceptions.
He emphasized the concerted efforts being made by inimical elements to target the Armed Forces and pledged to foil such nefarious attempts with the support of the people of Pakistan.
Upon his arrival, the General was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
