Nai Zindagi Trust Distributes Support Packages Among Transgenders

LAHORE: Nai Zindagi Trust distributed 398 living support packages (LSP) among deserving transgender (TGs) families in Lahore and Faisalabad in the month of June, 2022.

According to a press release issued by Nai Zindagi Trust, 239 ration packages were distributed in Faisalabad while 159 ration packages were distributed in Lahore to support the transgender community.

Transgenders are the key population of HIV/AIDS epidemic. The purpose of distributing living support packages in the transgender community is to address their nutrition needs and promote healthiness among them.

Since 2011, Nai Zindagi Trust (NZT) is the Principal Recipient (PR) of Global Fund grant providing Continuum of prevention and care CoPC+ life-saving services to people who inject drugs (PWID) and their families through 44 CoPC+ sites across 58 districts in Pakistan. Nai Zindagi works for drug harm reduction and HIV prevention in Pakistan.

Transgenders are a vulnerable community among the key populations of HIV epidemic.  Therefore, Nai Zindagi Trust has distributed living support packages (LSPs) amoung deserving transgender families through Sathi Foundation. These living support packages were distributed with the funding of Global Fund.
