Mohammad Abbas Enters Elite Club with 800 First-Class Wickets

NOTTINGHAM: Pakistani pacer Mohammad Abbas has etched his name among cricket’s greats, becoming only the fifth fast bowler from Pakistan to claim 800 first-class wickets.

The 35-year-old reached the milestone while playing for Nottinghamshire against Somerset in the County Championship Division One. Abbas took three wickets in the first innings, dismissing the top order to achieve the feat in his 198th match.

He now joins an elite list of Pakistan’s legendary pacers — Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Sarfaraz Nawaz.

So far this season, Abbas has claimed 25 wickets in seven matches at an average of 22.04, showcasing his consistent form.
